WAIKATO DISSATISFIED.

General dissatisfaction is exnressed throughout the Waikato at the new guaranteed price which i* stated to be an inadequate • cover for increased costs.' • . - ;
“The-price is totally'inadequate if it. is the intention of the Government that dairy-farmers receive payment for services commensmate with that received bv other sections of the community for equal service,” stated Mr C. j/Parlane. general manager of the New Zealand (V operative Dairy Company. “Farmers have every reason to be disappointed.”
The Government should permit the Farmers’ Union to broadcast a reply to Mr Nash's statement on the guaranteed price, commented Mr G. T. Crawley, president of the Waikato branch of the Farmers’ Union, who said that'the new price would not give farmers a reasonable standard of living. “It seems likely that there will be a big swing from cheese to butter.'’ said a cheese company director, who contended that the Government should make public the formula used in assessing the new Price, also the price recommended by the committee.
