AMALGAMATION OPPOSED

NAPIER PARK CLUB. „ NAPIER, A up. 30. One of the most important questions decided at the annual meeting of the Napier Park Racing Club to-day was the proposal for the amalgamation of the Napier Park Racing Club with the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club. The proposal, however, was unanimously rejected. A long letter from the president of the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club, Mr G. I>. Bcatson, outlining the proposals of lus club, was considered in committee. When open meeting was resumed it was moved by Mr V. Cox that the club should reply stating the question had been discussed in camera and that it had been found tliat members were not prepared to entertain the proposals in any way. This was seconded by Mr F. G. Smith and carried unanimously. The meeting was presided' over by the president of the club, Air C Louifson.
