HASTINGS TOURNAMENT. The outstanding performance on the second day of the Hastings Golr Club’s championship tournament, yesterday, was a card of 68, which constitutes a record for the Gate i a course, returned by J. R-, Hobbs. In the Hastings Championship W • F. Greenbank (Manawatu) was beaten in the first round by E. A. Garrod. 0 anl 4. H. S. Budd, the leader on the first day’s play, was beaten in the same round by I). G. Sutherland, 1 up. Sutherland subsequently beat xiobbs, up, in the second round. In the championship flight M. Waterworth beat Greenbank, 6 and 3and Budd beat A. E. Smith, 2 and 1 II E Fairer (Manawatu) beat HJ Grieve, 1 up, in the firstr ound of the Flaxmere Handicap, and in the second round beat C. Atkinson, 3 and l ln the teams match Manawatu scored 291 (Fairev 74 D. McKenzi 75. Greenbank 69, J. W. Jones 73). in the second medal match Gieenbank scored 69.
