FARMERS’ INTERESTS.
AMALGAMATION ADVISED.
Per Press Association. WANGANUI, Aug. 26. “There is a strong feeling in Hawke’s Bav that there should he an amalgamation between the Farmers Union and the Sheepowners’ Federation, said Mr C. J. Harris, organiser of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, when speaking at the monthly meeting today of the 'Wanganui provincial exetUHoe'added that the Wairoa branch of the uniofn had passed a resolution urging a conference between the two organisations, but he could not say whether anything had been done m the matter. , , Mr C. Smith said the Sheepowners Federation was practically a boutli Island body. As a member of both lie considered that amalgamation should tala place and movea accordingly. The resoltuion was carried.
