AUCKLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS
Per Press Association. AUCKLAND. Aug. 26. The annual Auckland boxing championship tournament concluded tonight. The standard was particularly good and surprises were the defeat of W. Purdie and G. Gordon in the welterweight and bantamweight divisions respectively, both being holders of the titles. Some nast champions did not compete. The only ones to retain their titles were K. Moran (featherweight) and AL McHugh (heavyweight). The following are the results of the finals:— Paperweight-. E. Underwood; flyweight, H. Sheridan; bantamweight, S. Stock; featherweight, K. Moran; lightweight, P. Kelly; welterweight, E. Estail; middleweight, R. Branch; light-heavyweight, H. E. Neale; heavyweight, AL AlcHiudt.
