GRAIN AND PRODUCE.
Per Press Association. CnmSTCIIUROir, July 23. "Crain and produce markets continue to be exceedingly quiet, with little business in any section. There appears to be practically no life in tho potato market, though at mid-week a few Wellington orders for Dakotas caused a slight stir. i>m new business is being done with Auckland, which appears to be wed supplied with deliveries in execution of earlier contracts, and with consignments from here. These consignments are reported to be heavy, though no indication of their exaet size is obtainable. About 13,000 sacks are due to arrive on the Auckland market at the week-end, Dakotas, £5 15s on trucks, and whites £4 15s to £5. Chaff, which is distinctly cheaper because a number of fanners have decided to cut stocks that they held in case of a shortage of feed value, is £4 a ton in the country, but even at this price it is hard to sell. Demand for oats is dead, and there is no movement in peas.
