BRITAIN HONOURS MARCONI

MEMORIAL SERVICES

(British Official Wireless.) Received July 23, 11.53 a.m. RUGBY, July 22. Yesterday evening at the hour of Marches© Marconi’s funeral, all British Government wireless telephone and telegraph stations were silent for two minutes. Both the men operators and the girls of the international telephone exchange stood to attention as a mark of respect. All British broadcasting stations also observed a short silence.

The Postmaster-General represented tho Government at a memorial service in London to-day. A memorial service was also held at Chelmsford Cathedral last night.
