FEILDING STOCK SALE.

SMALLER ENTRY OF SHEEP. A small yarding of fat ewes came forward for the Feilding stock sale to-day while the offering of tat hoggets snowed a decrease in numbers compared with last week. A fair penning of fat wethers of good medium to good quality were yarded. ’ A medium yarding of breeding ewes with a few pens of wethers comprised the offering of store sheep, which included a goodly number of store hoggets. Although the number of sheep offered exceeded the advertised numbers, the entry was much smaller than last week’s offering. In the cattle department there wa« an average I yarding of beef cattle, principally made up of ex-dairy Jersey cows. There was a full yarding of exdairv store cattle and a fairly heavy yafding of dairy cows and heifers. No run cattle were in evidence.

There was a strong demand for fat sheep and values rose appreciably. Three extra prime heavy woolled and meaty lambs, on account H. W. Smith, topped the market at 345, while 40 b.f.’s even and well-grown quality lambs, on account of C. M: Leen. made 335. Mrs Sowerby (Feilding) sold a pen of four prime lambs at 325. Wethers also found the market keen and a good pen of eight offered on account of Mr Maxwell realised 35s 6d. Pahia.tua-grown wethers, extra prime and off turnips, made 33s and 33s 4d. Prices aip to 1 p.m. were as follow : Fat sheep.—Lambs, 18s, 20s 9d, 21s 9d, 21s lOd. 22s lOd, 23s 9d, 23s lOd, 24s 4d, 24s 7d, 24s 9d. 25s 6d, 25s Bd, 26s 9d 2Ts sd, 325, 335, 345; wethers, 27s Id, 28s 6d. 335. 33s 4d. 35s 6d.
