INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL.
PROPOSAI; FOR CITY. The establishment of an intermediate school at Palmerston North was brought to the notice of the Alinister of Education, Hon. P. Fraser, at a meeting of the AVanganui Education Board yesterday afternoon. Air AI. H. Oram, of Palmerston North, assured the Alinister that the school committees were favourable to the establishment of such a school at Palmerston North, but no site had been decided on. The board would like to know liow the Alinister viewed the proposals for a new building so that the question of a site_ might be gone into further. It was imperative that the matter be given urgent nttenion, because, if an' intermediate school were not to be established, the erection of a new school at Takaro .would have to be considered to relieve overcrowding at the Central School. The Minister in reply said he would give the matter his earnest attention. During the meeting Air Fraser praised the work being carried out at the AAanganui Intermediate School, and expressed surprise at any parents show, ing reluctance to send their children to the school.
