(From Our Own Correspondent.) BULLS, June 6. Members of the Rangitikei Ladies’ Golf Club will play a concealed partnership game on Thursday, and players may choose their own partners for play. .AH cards, must bo handed in. A handsome challenge cup .has-been purchased for annual competition amongst bona fide members of the Rangitikei Defence Rifle Club. The honours have been mado retrospective, and the trophy bears the following names: 193 b, D. A. Lundy; 1934, If. Meads; 1935, D. P. Thorby; 1936, W. A. Stevenson. Each winner will also receive a miniature cup.

Under the iVloye scheme of Rugby games seniors have entered the second round of the competition, and the Rangitikei SubUnion will decide whether the Morton Old Boys or Munterville Club (which arc level in second place) will also enter. Bull will meet Waverley, at Wanganui, cn June 12; lluittervillo (or Marten Old Boys) at Bulls, on June 19; Kaicrau, at Bulls, on Juno 26; Wanganui Old Boys, at Wanganui, on July 3; and Technical College Old Boys, at Bulls, on July 10. On Saturday afternoon, a friendly game was played between mixed teams of seniors and juniors of the Bulls and Wanganui Old Beys Clubs, Bulls winning by 9 to 3. The match was not taken seriously, and the attendance was very small. Mr W. Ydughan has received an appointment at Whangarci, and left for the north during the week-end. Saturday was one of the coldest days experienced hero for many years. Heavy rain squalls, with occasional hail, coupled with a piercing wind, made matters very unpicas- j ant. A few miles away, on the liuntcrviJle ' road, fairly thick snow fell. A fair number of local sportsmen went I to Wanganui on Saturday for the races, i and although the weather was execrable, most came homo rejoicing, the Bulla-trained horse Spender returning the best dividend of the day, and the victory appeared to be anticipaed. Spender is likely to race at Wanganui again on Wednesday, and the . horse is very fit at present. I
