(From Our Own Correspondent.) MAKINO, June 8. _ Another large gathering assembled in the Makino Hall for the euchre tournament. The card winners weic:— Miss Dinah Davies, ladies’ first prizes; sealed prize, Airs V. Reid. All- Davies won the men’s first prize, and Air Douglas Hills the sealed. Miss Joan Thurston donated the ladies’ prizes, and Airs Thurston gave the men’s prizes. Mrs W. P. ' Bickers, “Ridgolands,” lias left.on a holiday at New Plymouth, where she is visiting her relatives. Mr Bickers has left for Auckland, whore he will be attending the annual meeting of the Now Zealand Pig Breeders’ Association. Air and Mrs Ancell, California, have been on a holiday v’si: with Airs A. Shannon*. “Alahoe.” Friends of Mrs Stratford will regret to learn that she has been compelled to enter hospital. Airs J. W. Nairn has returned home after a short holiday in Wellington.
