The visit of the Governor-General (Viscount Galway) to Auckland ended when he left by the Limited express last evening for Wellington. His Excellency will go to Dunedin and Invercargill, spending a tew days in each centre, and will also pay official visits to Alilton, Balclutha and Gore.—Press Association. '
Rev. C. E. B. Muschamp, senior assistant-priest at All Saints’ Church, Exmouth, England, has accepted the cure of St. Michael’s Church, Christchurch. He is 34 years old and is a son of Rev. Evelyn George Muschamp, of Launceston, Tasmania.
The managing-director ot Greater Union Theatres, Ltd., Mr Stuart E. Doyle, has resigned and accepted the managing-directorship of a London theatre enterprise and of a company recently formed which proposes ultimately to manufacture well-known makes of aero|ilunes in 1 Australia, states a Press Association cable irom Sydney. . Mr and Mrs G. M. Ranson, of Eeatherston Street, Mr and Mrs M. Lee, of Victoria Avenue, and Mr von Sturmer, ot itangitane Street, sail from Auckland on Monday week for Suva, where they intend to spend about six weeks. Messrs Ranson, Lee, von Sturmer, and Davis, ol l’aliiatua, are to participate in the big lull-rink bowling tournament, and it is understood that another lull rink from Pahiatua is also making the trip.
Due of the panel of lecturers to visit New Zealand tor the New Education Conference in July. Dr. I. L. Kandel, a noted American educationist, is to visit Palmerston North and will give an address before the Manawatu branch ot the New Zealand Educational Institute on “Comparative Education.” Dr. Kandel is from the International Institute of Teachers’ College, Columbia University. New York, and has published books on “Comparative Education” which are recognised standard works. A short tour has been arranged for Dr. Kandel, who will be accompanied by Mr R. MeGiasbem, president of the New Zealand Educational Institute, to enable him to study the New Zealand education system and include bis findings in bis next volume.
