Miss Alavis Townsend, who is to be married shortly, was recently entertained at a jolly kitchqji afternoon by Mrs Gowing, Heretaunga Street, and received many useful gifts for hei*. new home. The winners of competitions were Mrs AVliite and Alisses Bennett and Bull. Others present were Mesdames Hume, Hughes, Barlow, Arlidge, Scott and Alisses Holmes. Bradley. Miller, Hcnricsen, Cress well and White.
