WELLINGTON, May 31. Pressure has again risen considerably over New Zealand and remains high across the north Tasman Sea. A series of. westerly depressions continues to cross the south Tasman, but their centres are unusually far south. Forecast: Light to moderate northerly winds, later ' freshening rapidly. Weather: Fair to fine and mild, but becoming cloudy to-morrow and rain developing in and west of the ranges after about 24 to 36 hours. Seas slight to moderate but later rising. RIVER GAUGE AT PALMERSTON NORTH. Noon.—2ft. 9in.
