STRUCK BY A CAR.
AUCKLAND WOAIAN KILLED. ANOTHER INJURED. ‘ Per Pi •ess Association. AUCKLAND, Alay 30. One young woman was killed and another injured when, while crossing i Victoria Road at Belmont, shortly before 8 o’clock on Saturday night, they were struck by a motor-car proceeding toward Takapuna. A fracture of the base of the skull and head injuries resulted in the almost instantaneous death of Airs Eva Elizabeth Hupt, aged 26, of Takapuna, while her companion, Miss Gabrielle Beattie, aged 20, of Mount Eden, received concussion, facvii. injuries and shock. The motor-car, which was an old touring type, was ..driven by John lAlbert Gibson, aged 20, student.
