' Tho abovo report was received on Saturday by the Moat Board from its Lon don office, which advises that tho followlowing are the approximate prices realised for the week, based on actual transactions of wholesale quantities of tho descriptions of meat mentioned, and are for representative parcels of the goods offering during the week, being for business done on the basis of delivered to Smithlield market and/or ex London stores. Compared •with last week’s quotations, Down lamb id per lb higher; crossbred lamb, 281 b to 361 b, id per lb higher; 36 lb to 421 b, id per lb higher; wethers, id ner lb higher; ewes, 481 bto 561 b, id per lb higher. Others unchanged. The lamb market continues firm, particularly for lightweights. Tho mutton market has a better feeling nil round. The abovo cabled advice was received on Saturday by Levin and Co., Ltd., from their London agents, who quote current “delivered” prices as under:- —North Island Down lambs, 281 b to 361 b, 7id per lb; 361 b to 421 b 7d, Best North Island crossbred lambs, 231 bto 361 b, 7gd; ,361 bto 42tb, 7d. The Bank of New Zealand (produce department) lias received the folowing advice from its London office as at close of business last week: —The market for wethers is becoming firmer owing to small supplies available.
