CHARIOT RACES AT SHOW.
NOVEL event to be staged. It is expected that there will be thrills in plenty for patrons of the Manawatu Winter Show on Thursday and Saturday, June 17 and IS, while the Roman chariot races are in progress. Ever ready to keep abreast of the times in providing showring entertainment of the best kind, the Show authorities have gone to consider able expense to have three atlrhctive chariots designed and constructed and are offering substantial prizes to those who fill the three leading positions. lhe chariots are slung low on rubber-tyred motor-car wheels and axles and in view of the fact that that the event is a Coronation Year Show, they are painted red white and blue respectively. The curved sides and front are of metal and astrong shaft is provided to which will be hitched two horses. Trial runs will take place on. Thursday afternoon next Particulars of the event and also conditions of entry are advertised on page one ot this issue.
