MUNICIPAL BAND.
A meeting of the executive committee of the Feilding Municipal Band i was held last evening, there being present: Messrs T. Collins (Mayor), in the chair, E. A. Garlick, P. P. .Stevens, W. H. Clayton, S. Kemp, A. J. Wciod, W. Wilkinson, and the secretary (Mr C. ,H. Tate). Mr F. S. Collier was appointed to a vacancy on the committee. Accounts amounting to £ll 19s 3d were passed for payment,, leaving the band in credit to tne .extent ot £3<J 12s. /Bandmaster Stringer was granted ail, honorarium of £5 for his services while the band was without a conductor. In connection with the forthcoming queen carnival, it was decided to put the date back for one months. The question of selecting a' candidate to represent the band was referred to a sub-committee. The action of the band registrar, in purchasing a second-hand instrument for the use of learners, was confirmed. It was announced that the newly-appointed conductor, Mr A. Leatherby, would arrive to take up his duties on May 10.
