(From Our Own Correspondent.) SANSON, April 29.

The 62nd anniversary concert, in connection with the Methodist Church was held last evening in the f JLown Hall. Ihe Ala}' ton Methodist choir, under the leadership of Mr W. R. McNab, provided a splen did programme, in which assistance was given bv artists from Sanson, Bulls, ancl Rongoteii. Rev. R. E. Fordyce presided over a very fair attendance, the audience being smaller than wa<s expected, owing to a bereavement in the township, the cpi* demic, and to previously enforced postponements of the function. Jhe performers gave of their best, and the audience showed their appreciation by demanding encores to most of the items. Mr 1. 11. Trcniain (secretary and treasurer of the Sanson Methodist, Church .irust) read the balance-sheet, which showed a deficit of a few shillings on the year <s working. After the programme, the visitors were entcrlaincd at supper by the members °\ . e Sanson Methodist Ladies’ Guild. The chanman thanked the performers f° r then* nne programme, and those members of tho audience who had placed their cars at the disposal of the choir, the ticket collectors and doorkeepers, and those who earned the organ to and from the hall. Eater Mi McNab thanked the Sanson ladies for their hospitality, and indicated that he and tho choir would gladly provide another programme at a future date. The choir piovided eight concerted items, including anthems, gloos and a quartette. Indmdua items were contributed by the. following: Vocal solos, Mrs R. Mitchell, # Mrs G. Kyles, Misses S. Bond, H. Wadman, N. Masters, M. Foster, Messrs I. Pearce “and Harvey; Miss Francis Anderson.contributed several piano solos, and Mr l an oathei ly gave items on a piano accordion; Mrs W. B. Cuming entertained with elocutionary items and Misses S. Bond and H. \\ adman sang ducts. Mrs W. R. McNab accompanied the items by the choir, both tw organist and pianist. Mrs B. Mitchell, M.«ses Anderson and M. Foster, and Mr Q. Sather’y accompanied the items by tlie artists.
