MAKINO.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) MAICINO, April 9. Thu first of the regular series ot euchre parties and dances arranged by the Hall Committee in assist to raise funds, look place on Wednesday ovoning, and was very well patronised. The young peop.e derive much pleasure from these iunctions. Miss Vera Petersen won the ladies’ first prize, while the sealed prize went to Mrs Schwoiber. Both trophies were donated by Mrs Wilton. Mr W. U- R. Baker donated the men’s trophies, the first of which went to Mr Drummond McGregor, and t.ho sealed to Mr A. Roberts. After supper was dispensed, a dance was hold. 'Jhoso who contributed music wore Mrs P. R. Simpson, Misses Lotto Baker, Gwen Reid, and Mr A. Roberts. There will be a bandsome aggregate euchre prize this season, and it is expected that, competition for lho trophy will be very keen.
