WEEK IN GAOL.

STOWAWAY SENTENCED. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, April 10. For stowing away on the steamer Port Denison between Sydney and Auckland, Stanley Thomas Sands, aged 25, a seaman, was sentenced to seven days in gaol. He pleaded guilty. The police said accused had worked in New Zealand from 1925 to 1931 and subsequently went to Sydney. He became stranded and missed his boat hack to New Zealand. He knew nobody irom whom he could borrow his fare. The man was of good character and on the Port Denison had worked well.
