WHIROKINO HIGHWAY COMPLAINT

(From Our Own .Correspondent.) FOXTON, April 9.

Speaking at a meeting of the Moutoa Drainage Board. Mr D. Purcell drew attention to the growth of hemlock on the deviation of the main highway from the end of Johnston Street into Patrick Slrcet. Wherever spoil had been carted for filling purposes, he said, this noxious growth was showing up, and as it is a poisonous weed he thought that early steps should be taken to bring about its eradication. The chairman (All- J. Chrystall) commented on the spread of goatsruc also and it was decided to write to the Stock Department asking that it take the necessary steps to prevent (he spread of these two weeds.
