SALE OF CHILDREN

BABY TRADE LEGAL IN TEXAS. Babies can be bought and sold in Texas. This was revealed by Senator O’Neal, who, introducing a Bill to prohibit “the barter, sale or exchange of any child under 15,” said there was no law imposing penalties for the sale of children.

He told of a couple at San Antonio who swore they had paid £9 for a baby. Another set of parents had complained to him that they were told their baby had died in a hospital, but had discovered it was sold for adoption. The Senator declared that, children were constantly being advertised lor sale under the guise of adoption.
