GERMAN CHURCH.

IMPRISONED LEADER’S DEATH. Relations between the Nazis and the German Protestant Church have grown worse as the result of the death in prison of a noted Church leader. Dr. Martin Niemoller, pastor of Dalilcn, announced from the pulpit on February 28 that Dr. Weissler had been “found dead in his cell” in the Sonnenberg concentration camp on February 19. Dr. Weissler was legal adviser to that section of the Protestant Church which will not accept Nazi domination. Dr. Niemoller mentioned that the dead cleric was supposed to have hanged himself. This form of death is fairly common in the German concentration camps and political prisons. Special prayers were oflered through-! out Germany for all church leaders in j custody.
