FREEDOM FROM DISTURBANCE. LONDON, March *26. A St. Wolfgang message says elaborate police provisions will protect the Duke of Windsor from disturbances after his arrival at Hausapesbach. Gendarmes will prevent anyone approaching and special launches will patrol the lakeside. It is generally believed that the Duke of Windsor will remain there until his marriage late in May. The Times Milan correspondent says Mrs Simpson is reported to be leasing Villa Rosa, one of the most charming homes on Lake Como, from the American owner. “SACKED LIKE OFFICE BOY.” MR MAXTON’S COMMENT. LONDON, March 27. Mr James Maxton, M.P., chairman of the independent Labour Party, addressing the conference of the party in Glasgow, said that nobody present at the last conference had anticipated a constitutional crisis leading to the dismissal of one King and the appointment of another. “We have seen how trivial an impression the whole thing has 1 elt in the minds of the masses, indicating that the monarchical institution docs not matter much,” lie declared. “Air Baldwin's Nationalist Government effectively demonstrated that the greatest and best-loved monarch England ever knew could bo sacked like an office boy and another office boy replace him, in 24 hours.”
