Children in all primary schools have received copies of a special pamphlet written tor the parents and the children, and a still wider publicity effort is to he made when motor vehicle licenses are being renewed during .May. It 's intended to hand to each recipient of a driver’s license a copy of the Highway Code, an explanation of the motor vehicle regulations in nontechnical language, and a complete copv of those regulations as they have I,ceil gazetted. About 300.000 of these small booklets will ho prepared. Another big printing task is the production of 400.000 copies of the Highway Code explained in lion-legal terms, and it will he sent into every household in New Zealand, carrying a message to every road user that there must he mutual care and consideration in an effort no avoid an appalling hist not inevitable toll of human life and stiffening through road accidents.
