UNUSUAL DEATH.

PEBBLE BLOWN THROUGH HEART. “A million to one chance,” was the Derby coroner’s description lof a quarry blasting accident in which George Hodgkinson, aged 45, 'a quarry owner, of Littleton Street, Derby, was killed by a pebble which pierced his heart. After the second shot had been fired Hodgkinson turned round, began to run and then collapsed. A postmortem examination revealed that a small pebble had gone through Hodgkinson’s heart. A verdict of death by misadventure was returned.
