COMPETITION MATCHES.
The following details concern matches played on Saturday in the Feilding Lawn Tennis Club’s competitions, which have been progressing for some time past but which, owing to wet weather, have taken longer to complete than anticipated. The final stages of the competitions have now been reached and should be completed at an early date. In the semi-final of the men’s A grade championship, on Saturday, W. Boddy beat H. Merritt. 6—3, 6—4. Riley (10) beat Younger (15), 60—49, in the men’s handicap singles semifinal.

Second round: Humphrey beat Groombridge, 2—6, 6 —2, 6 —3; Wilkinson beat Riley, I—6,1 —6, 6—4, 6—l; Salmond defaulted to Wilson; Boddy beat Reid, 6 —l, 6—o; Merritt beat Overend, 6—o, 6 —3; Tate beat Kilgour, 6 —3, 6—3; Telford defaulted to Semi-final: Boddy beat Merritt, 6—3, 6—4.
