BISHOP PHOTOGRAPHED. Bradford’s Bishop Blunt, who at, the beginning of the abdication crisis last year was one of the most-talked of men in Britain, was photographed arm-in-arm with a “demon king.” It was behind the scones at. the pantomime, “Mother Goose.” On the Bishop’s other arm was the principal girl, Doreen Clieyne. Bishop Blunt it was whoso remarks to the Diocesan Conference, on December 1, led the Yorkshire Post and the Manchester Guardian for the first time partly to “take the lid off” the gossip current in informed circles about the King’s romance. Commending King Edward VIII to God’s grace, “which he will so abundantly.: need, as we all need it,” the Bishop said: “We hope that he is aware of his need. Some .of us wish that he gave more postive signs of his awareness.” His words were interpreted as a reference to matters of which he said afterwards he had no knowledge.
