AUSTRALIAN SWIMMERS.

CONVINCING DISPLAY. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Feb. 21. Clear superiority was shown by the Australian surf lite-savers in contests with Auckland teams at Milford beach on Saturday. They scored a victory in all three events m which they competed. First, they won the surf team’s race convincingly, opposed by two Auckland representative teams. In the intercolonial rescue and resuscitation competition, conducted under Australian rules, the Australians, who had greater polish and freedom of movement, and whoso actions were not unnecessarily precise like those of the Aucklanders, were awarded first place. J. Miller outpaced the field in the surf belt race in 2min 26sec, beating N. Crump, former New Zealand champion, by five seconds.
