BOWLING.

The semi-final and final matches of the Manawatu Centre Bowling Association’s veterans’ tournament were played on the Takaro Club’s green on Friday. Results: — Northern (Andrews, ITodder,' Palnir er, Robinson, skip) 9 beat Feilding (McElroy, G. Watts, J. Bartholomew, H. G. Davidson, skip) 3; Takaro (lhle, Frew, Smith, Morgan, skip) 13 beat Paliiatua (Arrow, South, Russell, Hunter, skip) 0; Terrace End (Kells, Ashton, Kershaw, Wallace, skip), a bye. In the next games Northern (Robinson) 11 beat Terrace End (Wallace) 3; Takaro a bye. Final.—Northern (Robinson) 9 beat Takaro (Morgan) 4. The opinion of the competitors and spectators was that the games should be of 21 heads instead of seven, as it had taken two days for the competition, and this meant some of the veterans had to travel long distances for such short games.
