WOODVILLE, Fob. 17. Air W. J. Hawkes presided over the annual meeting of the Woodvillo Golf Club, there being a large attendance. The bal-ance-sheet showed that the funds were in credit to tho extent of £27 10s 7d. Officers were elected as follow: —Patron, Mr F. Ormond; president Mr G. Peebles; vice-presi-dents, Alessrs W. J. Hawkes and J. Elder; hon. secretary, Air R. D. Mackie; hon. auditor, Mr N. E. Robertson; club captain, Air E. L. Wilson; committee, Alessrs A. Harris, N. E. Robortson, A. S. Skinner, ,J. J. Young, and R. Peebles. Votes of thanks were accorded Air F. Ormond for tho use of his property, Mr G. Peebles and Mr and Airs R. Peebles for their many kindly sorvices during: the past season, the lady members for their assistance on match days and at tournament time, the secretary and tho treasurer. Tho following new members were elected: Mrs F. Mackic, Messrs G. L. B. Williams, C. MeDiarinid, E. Hutchison, R. Munro, G. AlcCullough, E. E. Beale, and A. C. Vowoll. A donation of £1 Is was made to the ladies’ prize fund, and an honorarium of £3 3s voted to the secretary. It was decided that as the club had joined the New Zealand Golf Association’s insurance scheme the premium of Is 6d per player be levied. It was also recommended to tho incoming committee . that tho Elder Cun competition and tho senior and junior championships be played on a two-life system. The matters of preparing tho links for opening day and tho fixing of the day were left to the committee. During tho recent health stamp campaign stamps to the value of £36 13s Btl Mere sold, which netted the sum of £lB 6s lOd for the fund, to which was added £l3 10s, being £lO proceeds of a street stall and £3 10s donation, making a total of £3l 16s lOd for tho fund, as against the sum of £l3 10s 4d in the previous year. At a meeting of the executive of tho Hawke’s Bay War Relief Association at Napier tho Woodville branch return for December and January—-£lO Is 2d and £64 9s 7d —was adopted. The secretary reported that since / tho previous meeting assistance to soldiers and dependants, which had been granted, had amounted to £991 4s 3d, comprising grants £567 4s Bd, loans £225 5s Id, and payments on account of other societies £l9B 14s sd. In Woodville, 12 soldiers had boon granted £8 19s 6d, and four soldiers had refunded £59 in loans. Miss I. AI. Graham, of Woodville, has received notice of her appointment as a probationary assistant at the Woodville School. Mr G. L. Hartridgo is spending a few j days’ holiday in Hastings. I
