MATCH FOR BRADDOCK.
SCHMELING OR LOUIS. NEW YORK, Feb. 2. There is great speculation among sporting editors whether James Braddock, world'heavyweight boxing champion, will meet Max Schmeling or Joe Louis, and also whether the affair is legitimate or just a publicity stunt. The consensus of opinion is that the Louis match will bo abandoned if Madison Square Garden sues. Braddock to cnforco hie contract, and will take place if Madison Square Garden compromises. Of officials of the Illinois Athletic Commission, three are in favour of the Louis match It is stated that Chicago, the heart of the sports world, deserves the bout and is certain to get it. Garden officials have threatened a suit and .asserted that Mr Gould, Braddock’s manager, will have no chance of recovering the 5000-dollar forfeit for the Schmeling bout when he appears before the New' Y T ork Commission today.
