Mata Hari led into the straight from Whirling, Mungacre. King Ford, and Triune. Mata l Hari finished strongly to withstand a dotermined challenge from Tybalt, who came fast on the rails. Mungacre was third and Whirling fourth, followed by Triune and Armacourt.
