South Australia was abandoned at 2.20 p.m. Rain fell early in the morning and the wicket ' was slightly damaged. The approaches were too soft for the bowlers. The Test wicket was not damaged. SHEFFIELD SHIELD GAME. SYDNEY, Jan. 25. In the Sheffield Shield match against AUetoria, New South AA’ales, in its first innings, scored 305 (Hynes 54, McGilvray 45, Robinson 21). Sievers took five for 57, AleCormick, two for 74; Gregory, one lor 83. AGctoria, in its second innings, lost four wickets for 148 (Darling b2, Gregory 33, ltigg 6).
