CORONATION FLOWER SHOW

Orchids from Ceylon are likely to be the feature of Chelsea Flower Show to ho held in May next year, says the Home and Overseas Press Services. The Royal Horticultural Society is investigating the practicability of including exhibits representing contributions of overseas flora, and it is understood that the Secretary of State for the Colonies ha’s requested the co-operation of the Dominions and colonies. If the scheme matures, apart from flowering plants typical and indigenous to Ceylon, it is possible that orchids, of which many varieties can he found in the island, will also be sent to England for the show.

After the exhibition is over it is proposed tliat the Empire exhibits shall be presented to the Royal Botanical . Gardens at Kew, from which, in exchange, English plants and flowers will be sent to the Dominions and colouies. '
