With the courts heavy after rain, the Canterbury tennis tournament was advanced to the duals, which will be decided after the New Zealand championships. Results are as follows :•

Men’s Singles.—Semi-finals: C. Angas beat D. C. Coombe, 7-5, 6-2; H. A. Barnett beat J. T. Mayson, 6-2, 6-4.

Women’s Singles.—Semi-finals ; Miss D. Nicholls heat Miss I. Poole, 6-2, 6-4; Miss T. Poole beat Miss M. Beveley, 4—6, 6—o, 6—2.

Men’s Doubles.—Final: 1). C. Coom'be and J. Charters beat Anyas and Dyinond, 6—3, 6—4. Women’s Doubles.—Semi-finals : Misses Bishop and Fleetwood beat I Misses N. and M. Beverley, 6-1, 6-3; Misses I. and T. Poole heat Mrs Beatson and Miss Wake, 6-1, 7-9, 6-0. Mixed Doubles. —Semi-finals: Dvmond and Miss Bishop beat Miss Nicholls and Coombe, 2-6, 6-4, 8-6; Seay and Miss T. Poole beat Charters and Mis N. Beverley, 6—3, 6—4. Boy’s Junior Singles.—Semi-finals: S. Watson beat C. V. Armstrong, 6-2, 6-2. Boy’s Junior Doubles. —First round: V. Jones and Atkinson beat M. J. Corich and J. Moffit, 6-4, 5-6, 6-2.
