MINES IDLE.

DISPUTE OVER WAGES. Per Press Association. GREYMOUTH, Dec. 21. The Liverpool State mine was idle to-day as the result of a dispute regarding payment for the King’s Birthday. The dispute also affects the Janies State mine. It is understood that the men s demand for payment was refused by the Minister of Mines. The men went to the Liverpool mine this morning, but returned home. The shift men at the James mine were working to-day, but will come out to-night.
