CLUB MATCHES.
FURTHER GAMES COMPLETED. LOWER GRADE CONTESTS. The last club cricket matches before the holidays in the Manawatu Cricket Association’s competitions were completed on Saturday in cool weather. A heavy shower of rain, in the midaftemoon caused a short interruption, but no further falls were experienced. Only senior B, junior A, and junior B matches were played on or senior A players being engaged against Feilding on the opening, day of the matches (the King’s birthday) and in the Town v. Country contest on Saturday. One senior B cricket match had been completed on the first day, Old Boys beating City to take a four-point win. Kia Toa secured four championship points also, as the outcome of their match with H. L. Young’s, which was completed on Saturday, and Y.M.C.A.
secured a four-point win over Combined Services.
In the junior A division Combined Services secured a three-point win against United and Old Boys enjoyed a similar win over High School. On the Hokowhitu ground, in the junior B section, Y.M.C.A. heat City (a three-point victory) and the match between Kia Toa and United was drawn.
