The Daily Telegraph says Sir Louis Groig has been elected chairman of the All-England Lawn Tennis Club. He partnered King George in the doubles championship in 1926. Mr C. P. Dixon, the British nonplaying captain of the Davis Cup team, and Mr C. 11. Hyem have resigned from the Lawn Tennis Umpires’ Association owing to being dissatisfied tyith the manner in which the line umpires were selected for the two Davis Cup ties and the Wightman Cup matches of 1936. When asked to reconsider their decision, they agreed to suspend their resignations pending the next meeting of the council.
