WHEAT PRODUCTION.
SPEC!AL COMMITTEE. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Dec. 5. A special committee has been set up by the Government to go into the question of the cost oi production of wheat in order that reliable data may Ac secured to enable the government to decide, upon fixed prices for the coining and future harvests. The membership of tho committee is as follows: Mr .7. S. Barton, S.M. (chairman). Dr. Weston (Lincoln College), Mr D. (). Williams (Massey College), Mr A. Grant (Waimoto, a member of tlie Wheat Committee), Mr H. Worrall (flourmillcr. Christchurch), and Mr C. S. Sapsford (district officer of the Department of Industries and Commerce, Christchurch). It is expected that the committee will commence its sittings at Oamam on December 9 and thence proceed to Timaru, Ashburton, and Christchurch.
