FEILDING HIGH SCHOOL.
ENTERTAINMENT BY PUPILS. Concert programme entertainments by pupils of the Agricultural High School are generally popular, thanks to the acceptable standard set and maintained by the staff and pupils. It was to be expected, therefore, that for the concert in the school assembly hall on "Saturday night there should be a full “house.” The programme was not as ambitious as some of its predecessors, but it was well balanced and of good quality. The boy pupils presented the one-act play, “The Poachers,” in which tlie parts were taken by Iv. Pedlar. I. Spelman, N. Mitcliinson, and (L Cuming. Swedish dances by girl and boy pupils provided further opportunity for an exhibition of the taste for eurythmies. The programme concluded with the presentation of an operetta, “The Beauty Competition.” Phyllis Goldsmith, who had the part of Jane, the maid at the School of Dancing ami Deportment, was outstanding. Alcthea Raynor, as Madame Angelique, carried her responsibilities with modest dignity and sang sweetly. Mrs Sandilands at the piano had the assistance of Miss M. Armour as a duo pianisto for the second play. Pupils taking part in the dancing, etc., were Z. Bell. B. Little, K. Short, V. Howard, P. Baker. P. Bell, N. Hendry, B. Peal-point, S. Pearpoint, 15.
