GAOL SENTENCE.
PENALTY FOR THEFT. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Dec. 5. A housekeeper, Alice Evelyn O’Neill, aged 43. single, pleaded guilty to-day to three charges of stealing sums ot money totalling £6 13s from her employer, a detective having traced three marked coins in her possession. Counsel for accused said she had nu relatives in Auckland. He was unable to say why she took the money. Remarking that the woman was in a position of trust, Mr Wyvern Wilson. S.M.. sentenced her to seven days’ imprisonment.
