SMART JIFFY-KNIT SWEATER.
Full instructions for making this smart jiffy-knit sweater will be sent by return post to readers who write to Laura Wheeler Needlecrafts, P.O. Box 890, Wellington, and enclose sixpence in stamps. Patterns will come to you with detailed instructions for making the blouse shown and a plain skirt in sizes 16 to 18 and 38 to 40; an illustration of the blouse’ and of the stitches used, and material requirements. Please write plainly, printing your Name and Address in capital letters, and state the number of the pattern (102 G).
If you can’t decide whether to make a frilly, feminine-looking sweater or a tailored, trim one, why not choose this pattern? It’s a jiffy-knit, too, which means that you will spend much less than the usual time in making it. The easy lace stitch is soft and flattering, while the snug-fitting club collar makes a good neck-line under a suit. Sleeves may be long or short, and you may knit a plain skirt to make a two-piece costume.
