CRICKET ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of the committee of the Feilding Cricket Association was held last night, with Mr C. E. Taylor (president) in the chair. A letter was received from the Hutt Cricket Club asking if ia match could be arranged with a touring team on December 29.—1 t was decided to make inquiries to discover whether an eleven could be assembled on that date. The committee discussed a proposal to ask the Borough Council for a new arrangement for the control of Kowhai Park. It was stated that at present the council granted a subsidy to the Cricket Association, which body pays the caretaker, the association paying the extra amount required. It was suggested that a better arrangement would be for the Borough Council to take complete control and for the Cricket Association to contribute a sum towards the cost. It was decided to send a deputation to the reserves committee of the council on the matter. Mr H. Jaggard made an appeal to the committee to endeavour to strengthen the list of umpires. On the scheme to raise funds for the purpose of erecting a suitable building at the park, the committee decided to ask the president to address all players during the tea interval on December 12.
