GIRL GUIDES.
PALMERSTON NORTH ASSOCJAATION. The District Commissioner (Mrs G. A Eliott) presided at the monthly meeting of the Palmerston North Girl Guides’ Association, last evening. Also present were Mesdames I. Brougham, A. Stewart, J. Body, Findlay Wilson, J. H. Whyte, G. S. Watchorn, J. M. Roberts. A. E. Bloomfield. _ F. Bennett, C. Jensen, Misses C. Warburton, M. Grant and M. Warren (hon secretary). At tho commencement of the meeting Mrs Eliott welcomed Mrs Watchorn, who was taking her place on the committee for the first time. Favourable comment wns made on the manner in which the colour party carried , out their duties on the occasion of the dedication of the Scout and Guide Corner in All Saints' Church, it being resolved to convey congratulations to the guiders. Arrangements were made for the carol camp-fire to bo held in Auzae Park.
After routine business, a combined meeting was held, with the guiders, Misses G. Hands, P. Nicholls and JWoodward, Mrs Tiddy presiding. Mrs Eliott presented a report on the recent commissioners’ conference and gave an indication of what was being planned as the Guides’ part in the Coronation celebrations. The meeting approved of the suggestion of borrowing some of the funds in hand, for the purpose oQ erecting a Guide hut, if a suitable site could be found. Mrs Whyte presented the examiner’s report on the recent health badge test, all the Guides competing having passed. An invitation was conveyed to tho committee to attend a party of the Hokowhitu Brownie pack. Tentative arrangements were made for the annual swimming sports to be held in February.
