YESTERDAY’S BUSINESS AND PRICES. Business whs much quieter and the markets were dull on the Wellington Stock Exchange yesterday. An easier tendency was apparent in most sections, and leading Australian industrial aiid trading issues, which had been much favoured in recent weeks, ihowed weakness;. Government loans attracted little attention, the only business recorded being a sale of 4 per cent stock. 1955, at £lo3 15s. There was nothing doing in bank issues. P. and 0. deferred stock was firm at 365, cum. 4 per rent dividend, which is payable 'lons English jhconic tax. Gear Alosit wore weak on businc-e at 16s 9d, Australian Glass eased t.o 89s 9d, sellers 90s 6d. Broken Hill Proprietary were, marked down to 79e, sellers 80s, and there were sellers of the contributing issue at 69s 6d. Woolwortbs (N.Z.) weakened to.£6, sellers £7, cum. dividend and rights, and the Sydney issue sold at £? 9s. YESTERDAY'S QUOTATIONS.
