FARM LABOUR.

ANOMALY IN SOUTH. Per Press Association. OAMARU, Nov. 27. The difficulty which is being experienced by farms in getting men to accept seasonal farm work was discussed by the AVaitaki County Council to-day. Several members stated that it was ridiculous to keep men on county relief work while farmers were crying out for labour. The department had been unable to find, men for turnip-thinning and shearers were in very short supply. Cr J. S. Adams said men on relief were not prepared to accept casual farm work, preferring regular relief work. It was generally considered that relief work should he stopped while seasonal work was available.
