BIBLE-IN-SCHOOLS

METHODISTS’ SUPPORT. (Special to “Standard.”) HASTINGS, Nov. 26. The Manawatu-Hawke’s Bay District Synod of the Methodist Church, to-day reaffirmed its support of the Bible-in-Schools League, and commended the work of llev. E. 0. Blamires to the circuits. Ministers were urged to co-operate in inducing suitable teachers to provide for the opening observations each day. It was recommended that where a school committee refuses to permit any religious teaching or Bible reading, the request be made locally for a referendum of the parents, if at all possible.
