PROSECUTION ORDER

MINISTERIAL INSTRUCTION. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Nov. 25. By instruction from the Minister of Labour (Hon. H. T. Armstrong) proceedings are to be taken against 40 men who were employed on the Birkenhead sewerage reticulation contract, who are concerned in a dispute with the contractors, on the ground that they took part in an illegal strike. The Labour Department has also been instructed to proceed personally against Air T. Stanley, secretary of the Auckland General Labourers’ Union, for allegedly inciting a strike. The men engaged in the dispute are members of the Auckland General Labourers’ Union, and were working under an award. They demanded higher wages.
